Saturday May 23rd – Giro d’Italia 2026 stage 14: Aosta → Pila (133 km)

Stage 14 is a compact mountain stage from Aosta to the ski resort of Pila. The climbing begins immediately after the start, with the first kilometres rising steadily toward Saint-Barthelemy. This opening offers no space for errors or warm-up.

After the descent the peloton faces three more climbs: Doues (5.6km at 6.2%), Lin Noir (7.5km at 7.8%) and Verrogne (5.6km at 6.9% average). A fast downhill ends at the foot of the final climb.

The finale is the ascent to Pila, 14 kilometres at an average of 7.8%. The steepest gradients appear in the first half, with several kilometres above eight percent. The upper section is more regular, though the road continues to rise all the way to the ski station.

From the base of the final climb there are no flat sections. The road climbs continuously to the finish at 1,800 metres of altitude.

This stage will set the GC. The combination of an immediate uphill start, a steady mid‑stage climb and a steep summit finish is likely to produce clear time gaps. There is no room to hide.
