Saturday October 18 2025 - NIBC Tour of Holland - Stage 4: Emmen > VAM-berg (159km)

The fourth stage of the NIBC Tour of Holland takes the peloton from Emmen to the VAM-berg in Drenthe, a 158-kilometer stage packed with elevation changes and promising a true spectacle. From the start in Emmen, the riders will ride a large loop through the Drenthe landscape, after which the race will focus on the VAM-berg, a well-known and steep climb that has acquired iconic status in Dutch cycling.

What makes this stage special is the eleven climbs that cross the VAM-berg, including two large loops that also include the "Roof of Drenthe." These climbs will decide the race; the gaps in the general classification could widen considerably here. After the climbs, there will be a fast descent and flat kilometers towards the finish, potentially providing even more excitement in the final stages as stragglers try to catch up.

Drenthe is known as the cycling province of the Netherlands, where rolling landscapes and nature form the backdrop for this challenging stage. Although the Netherlands is mostly flat, this stage proves that there are also real climbing challenges, distinguishing its profile from the previous flat and time trial stages.

This hilly stage presents the first serious test for GC riders, who will have to demonstrate their climbing and recovery skills, while team tactics will also be crucial to securing a good result in this decisive phase of the race.
