Friday October 17 2025 - NIBC Tour of Holland - Stage 3: Sittard > Watersley (149km)
The Limburg stage of the NIBC Tour of Holland is a hilly stage from Sittard to Watersley, covering a total distance of 149 kilometers. From the Tom Dumoulin Bike Park, the route heads directly into South Limburg, the domain of the Dutch hilly classics. After just under thirty kilometers, the Keutenberg, one of the steepest climbs in the Netherlands, appears on the course, followed by the Gulperberg and, later in the stage, the Cauberg. The peloton will thus face several well-known Limburg climbs, as well as passages through Noorbeek, Mheer, Sint Geertruid, and Moerslag. It's the classic terrain known from races like the Amstel Gold Race.
After the first seventy kilometers, during which the climbing begins to pile up, the riders head north, followed by a final phase with three local circuits of seventeen kilometers around Sittard. Here, the Beukenberg and Wanenberg will determine the final course of the race, with the finish line drawn at the Watersley cycling discovery point. This finale is selective; every climb presents an opportunity to gain or lose time, especially with the general classification in mind.
The combination of early, challenging climbs and repeated short climbs in the finale makes this stage crucial for those with high GC ambitions. Team tactics, positioning on narrow roads, and climbing ability will be decisive, making this stage a key stage for the Tour of Holland. Poor legs will be mercilessly punished here.
