Friday July 18th 2025: Stage 13- Loudenvielle-Le Louron – Peyragudes (10.9 km, climbing ITT)

The thirteenth stage is a unique climbing time trial of only 10.9 kilometres, but do not underestimate this stage: the course is extremely tough. The start is in Loudenvielle-Le Louron, after which the riders start the climb to the Peyragudes airfield after a short flat approach. The climb is 8.3 kilometres long with an average gradient of 7.8%, but has peaks of over 13%. It is a stage that is completely about climbing, without flat sections to recover.

The first kilometres are relatively even, but as the finish approaches, the percentages become increasingly higher. The last kilometre towards the runway is particularly steep and has become famous due to previous spectacular finishes. In this time trial, regulating the effort is crucial: starting too hard means you will definitely come to a standstill on the steep final kilometres. The climbing specialists will be able to take advantage of this, while the pure time trialists will have a hard time.

The rankings could be turned upside down again here. The differences may not be huge, but every second counts in this phase of the Tour. It is a day where the favorites cannot afford to make a mistake. The climbing time trial to Peyragudes is a rare and spectacular part of this Tour and will undoubtedly provide tension until the last meter.
