Wednesday April 15 2026 - Ronde van Limburg - Hasselt - Tongeren (178.4km)

The Ronde van Limburg on Wednesday 15 April runs from Hasselt to Tongeren-Borgloon over 178.4 kilometres and is likely to be decided in the second half of the race on a selective, rolling course with cobbled sections and several climbs. The start is on Kolonel Dusartplein in Hasselt, with the finish on Elisabethwal in Tongeren-Borgloon, where the riders are expected to arrive around 5:13 p.m.

After the start, the race first features a local loop in and around Bilzen-Hoeselt, including two passages on the Maastrichterallee and a double ascent of the Keiberg. The peloton then heads towards the finale, where three laps of the so-called Limburglus await. This closing phase includes the Kolmontberg and Zammelenberg, followed by the cobbles of Manshoven and Op de Kriezel.

The course is compact, but by no means flat: the combination of climbs, cobbled sections and exposed roads makes positioning important, especially in the run-in to the finale. The final passages may also be exposed to wind, which can further affect the pace and organization in the peloton. For that reason, a controlled sprint is far from guaranteed, although the finish line in Tongeren-Borgloon remains a logical point for a reduced bunch.

Based on the profile, the race seems suited to riders who cope well with short climbs and can consistently stay near the front. There is little time to recover from a bad position on this course.
