The Giro continues north along the Tyrrhenian coast with a stage that links Paestum to Napoli. The profile is not difficult, but the constant movement of the road and the approach into the city make it more than a routine sprint stage. The first half of the day is straightforward, while the second half becomes more nervous as the race enters increasingly urban terrain.

The opening kilometres follow the coastline on wide, flat roads. The peloton should remain compact here, with little to encourage early selection. After Agropoli the route becomes slightly more irregular, with a series of short rises that do not change the nature of the stage but do influence positioning. These small climbs may tempt a breakaway to push its advantage, although the sprinters’ teams will expect to keep the gap manageable.

The run toward Napoli becomes more complex as the race approaches the city. The roads narrow at times and the rhythm is interrupted by roundabouts and short bends.
