Tuesday September 2 2025: Stage 10 - Sendaviva > Larra-Belagua (175km, mountaintop finish) 

The tenth stage of the 2025 Vuelta a España on Tuesday, September 2nd, will take the peloton over 175 kilometers from Sendaviva theme park to the climb-finish line at the Larra-Belagua ski resort in the Pyrenees. This first day after the rest day starts relatively easily: the first 110 to 120 kilometers are gently rolling and consist mainly of uncategorized climbs where there is generally little selection.

After this long approach, the first serious hurdle follows: the Alto de las Coronas (category 3, approximately 7.2 kilometers at an average gradient of around 4.7%). After this, the road heads towards Isaba, and the course climbs further into the Pyrenean highlands. The real decision will come on the final climb to the Larra-Belagua ski resort (category 1, 9.3 to 9.4 kilometers at an average gradient of 6.2 to 6.3 percent). The first few kilometers of this climb are particularly steep, with sections around 8 to 10 percent, after which it levels off somewhat towards the summit. The finish line is at an altitude of 1,590 meters and offers opportunities for climbers who come out of the rest day strong.

In terms of scenarios, this mountain stage could be a target for both strong breakaway riders and GC riders. Breakaway riders with strong climbing skills will struggle to break into the lead group, and the final stage is more suited to GC riders who can't afford to lose time. The fatigue of the previous week and the fresh legs after the rest day mean that surprises are possible, especially on the steep opening meters of the final climb.

This stage is therefore typical of the Vuelta: a relatively calm approach and an explosive and decisive finale that could significantly shake up the general classification.
