Wednesday October 15 2025 - NIBC Tour of Holland - Stage 1: Dordrecht > Dordrecht (118.5km)

The opening stage of the NIBC Tour of Holland takes place in and around Dordrecht and is 119 kilometers long. The peloton departs from the historic center of Dordrecht and, after a neutralization, heads towards the Alblasserwaard, a region known for its open polder landscape and the windmills of Kinderdijk. A large circuit is then ridden five times, with the riders passing long, straight stretches along the Lekdijk and Oud-Alblas. The wind could play a role here: echelons are always possible and can cause early nervousness.

The finale begins as soon as the peloton crosses the Alblasserdamsebrug and heads towards the Zwijndrechtsebrug, where the finish line is located. The final kilometers are flat and ideal for a bunch sprint if the peloton stays compact, but with sufficient wind, groups can break up and surprising developments can occur. The stage immediately tests positioning, cooperation in the peloton and alertness to the characteristic Dutch elements, meaning that not only sprinters but also strong all-rounders will want to be at the front.
