Saturday July 26th 2025: Stage 20 - Nantua - Pontarlier (184 km, sprint/ break)

The twentieth stage is a transition stage from Nantua to Pontarlier, through the rolling landscape of the Jura Mountains. After the tough Alpine stages, this is a relatively easy stage, but it can be underestimated. The course is constantly up and down, with several short, steep climbs ideal for attackers. The GC riders will primarily try to stay out of trouble and avoid taking unnecessary risks.

The first half of the stage takes you along narrow roads and through small villages, which can make the peloton nervous. The second half features several longer, running sections where the sprint teams can set the pace. The final stretch towards Pontarlier is slightly downhill, with a wide approach to the finish. This is a day where a strong breakaway could surprise, but a bunch sprint is also a possibility.

This day will likely have little change for the GC, barring crashes or echelons. The GC riders will primarily try to conserve energy for the final day. For attackers this is the last chance for a stage win, so the battle for the early breakaway will be fierce.
