Friday March 20th 2026 - Bredene Koksijde Classic: Oostende - Koksijde (203.4 km)
The Bredene Koksijde Classic 2026 is held on an almost entirely flat course in West Flanders, starting on the coast and finishing in or near Bredene. The race follows familiar patterns from recent years: exposed polder roads, sections close to the sea, and short local laps in the finale. Wind is a key factor, and echelons can form early.
The opening half of the race is defined by long, straight roads where the pace is high and sprint teams usually try to keep control. There are no major climbs, but the route features narrow sections, roundabouts and frequent changes of direction that raise the tension as the finish approaches.
In the final part, local laps around Bredene with several passages over the line create constant accelerations and braking, stretching the bunch and punishing poor positioning. The last kilometres run over wide, fast roads with a limited number of corners, which puts the focus on lead-out trains and precise timing. Under normal conditions a bunch sprint is the most likely outcome, although strong coastal winds can still produce a reduced group or a successful late move.
